Antoine Bouvet has been passionately carrying on the winegrowing heritage left by his grandfather Guy since 1970. His estate, spread over around five hectares of vineyards, four of which are supplied to the prestigious Maison Bollinger, is a shining example of tradition and innovation. From the earliest stages of his management, Antoine embraced a more sustainable and conscious approach to agriculture, initiating a transition to biodynamics and obtaining organic certification for all the vineyards from 2020.
The Blanc de Noirs Les Monts de la VallĂ©e is an authentic expression of terroir, composed of 100% Pinot Noir from vineyards located in the Premier Cru communes of Mareuil sur Ay, Bisseuil and Avenay Val D’Or. With an average vine age of forty years and chalky soils rich in chalk, Les Monts de la VallĂ©e encapsulates the quintessence of the terroir.
Antoine, with his sensitivity for respecting nature, tends the vines and the soil without using chemicals, following the principles of biodynamic agriculture. The vinification process is equally respectful of the environment, with spontaneous fermentation of the grapes and ageing in both wood and steel, followed by a long period of bottle ageing.
The result is a structured and complex Champagne, with a perfect balance between freshness and fruit concentration, enhanced by a minimum dosage of just 1 g/l. On the nose, toasty notes, yeasts and pastry nuances open up, while the palate offers a streamlined and creamy texture, ideal for pairing with refined fish, white meat and game dishes. With the Blanc de Noirs Les Monts de la Vallée, Antoine Bouvet celebrates the excellence of the terroir and the art of Champagne.
Antoine Bouvet : Family History Continues
Following in the footsteps of his illustrious grandfather, Guy Bouvet, Antoine Bouvet distinguished himself as a vigneron. From a young age, Antoine breathed the air of viticulture and winemaking under the expert guidance of his grandfather, founder of the renowned Maison Champagne Guy Bouvet.
After training at the renowned School of Viticulture in Avize, Antoine began working actively with his grandfather in 2011. In 2013, he took over the reins of the company, initiating a transition to biodynamics that led to all the vineyards being certified organic.
Despite his young age, at only seventeen, Antoine has shown extraordinary knowledge and determination in the field of wine production. His vineyards, scattered between the picturesque villages of Mareuil-sur-Ay, Avenay val d'Or and Bisseuil, cover an area of five hectares, with most of the grapes destined for the renowned Maison Bollinger and only one hectare reserved for his personal line.
The limited production, around 1000 bottles per label, testifies to Antoine's commitment to quality and authenticity. His vineyards, characterised by limestone soils and chalk layers, are home to vines over sixty years old, mainly Pinot Noir.
With a deep respect for the terroir and following the principles of biodynamic agriculture, Antoine cultivates his vines using only organic and biological compounds. In the cellar, he favours natural vinification, without the use of oenological aids, and prefers spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, often using wooden containers for his cuvées.
Thanks to his passion and dedication, Antoine Bouvet continues to produce expressive wines that faithfully reflect their terroir, embodying the authenticity and vitality of Champagne.
