Dosage 7.4 grams per litre. The majority of the grapes come from the 2008 vintage. Start of refermentation in April 2009. It remains on the lees for at least 5 years. Brilliant straw yellow colour. The nose does not betray the classic Champagne imprint, which makes it clearly distinguishable. The aromas are of fresh white flowers, fruit, with apple and white currants. The marine notes that characterise all of Ellner’s Champagnes characterise it finely. Some bakery ideas, the kind you can smell around the bakeries early in the morning, also add value and complexity. To summarise, the aromas are beautifully crafted, underlining the excellent raw material and the great hand of those working in the cellar. On the palate we can tell of fine carbonicity, marked acidity, but above all remarkable minerality. The dosage of sugars gives balance and volume to the sip. Aromas of flowers, fresh fruit and again of the sea arrive on the aftertaste. An excellent champagne at a truly inviting price. Absolutely to try. Among Ellner’s champagnes, the Grande Réserve represents the beauty of feeling at home. The maison Charles Ellner is classified NM i.e. Negociant Manipulant.
