Moulin à Vent ‘Les Vieilles Vignes’. It can be considered the emblematic cuvée of our estate, as it represents half of the total surface area of the estate.
This cuvée is a blend of 9 plots representing 7 hectares, i.e. 50% of the total surface area of the estate.
7 Ha planted between 1910 and 1955. All the plots are situated in the shape of a belt around the Moulin à Vent hill.
The soil is shallow and consists of white and pink granite sand and quartz between 30 and 60 cm deep.
Vinification is done by hand harvesting with 40% of the whole harvest aged in oak barrels.
The company, created in 1720 in Nuits Saint-Georges, with the C.Marey and Comte Liger-Belair establishments, later listed on the Lyon stock exchange in 1923, has always been counted among the most important wine merchants in Burgundy.
Confident in the quality of its harvests as well as that of its wines, the family has been committed to enhancing the value of its domain by investing in the quality of its harvests, acquiring the best vintages and taking care of the distribution of the best Burgundy wines in France and throughout the world.
In 2001, after six years of studying viticulture and oenology and a career in a company specialised in communication around the wine business, based in Paris, Thibault Liger-Belair, the son of the generation and devoted to the cultivation and sale of wines that has been a family peculiarity since the beginning of the 18th century, took over the vineyards given to sharecroppers and created the Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair of which he is president.
Today, all the estate's vineyards are owned and Thibault Liger-Belair is fully involved in wine production. His philosophy is well summed up in this sentence:
"The quality of wines is decided in the vineyard as a priority by an implemented culture: we must remain humble in the face of the magic of our soils. Our role is therefore one of listening and observation, our responsibility is to best meet the needs of the vine and thus help it realise its full natural potential" - Thibault Liger-Belair

Rates: packing and shipping
The packaging cost applied to each order regardless of the number of bottles, weight and destination is €3.00 (VAT included).
The shipping cost is calculated by the system according to the destination of the goods and the number of bottles shipped.
For deliveries outside the EU. Any customs duties are charged to the recipient and are calculated and paid to the courier upon delivery. EX. For UK destinations around £2 per bottle.

Free home delivery is provided for the areas surrounding Senigallia where the zip code is 60019 and if the order value is at least €100.
