Discover the Vineyard of Loché: A Treasure of Elegance and Complexity
Vineyard Location Our vineyard is located in the picturesque village of Loché, a place renowned for its wine-making tradition and unique terroir.
Soil characteristics The vineyard soils are of piedmont origin, consisting of deep layers of neutral clay overlying residual clay. This composition contributes to the mineral richness of the soil, which is fundamental to the quality of the wine.
Tasting Experience The wine produced in our vineyard is opulent and complex. The Pouilly-Loché vines bring a distinctive elegance, enriched by fine bitterish reflections. The persistence and fresh mouthfeel are expressions of a terroir that offers intense minerality. This minerality blends perfectly with the wine’s opulence, giving it excellent ageing potential.
Vinification and Ageing Process The vinification and ageing of our wine takes place in two stages: 18 to 22 months in total, of which 11 months in barriques and the rest in steel tanks. The wine is bottled with little or no filtration, thus preserving the purity and complexity of its aromatic profile.
Discover more about Vigneto di Loché and be won over by its timeless elegance.
Domaine Thibert is first and foremost a family of artisan winegrowers who have always lived in the heart of the village of Fuissé.
Léon Thibert and Germaine Thibert, René Thibert's parents, managed Domaine Thibert in Fuissé. In March 1992, Annette and Pierre Vessigaud, Andrée Thibert's parents, lived in their house in Fuissé. René and Andrée Thibert, descendants of a lineage of winegrowers, started with a small plot of land in 1967. Their son Christophe returned to the estate in 1991, joined by his sister Sandrine in 1999. Today, the two carry on the tradition by combining their unique skills.
Over the years, passion and know-how have been handed down from father to son, with an immense respect for nature and the work of past generations. Thanks to their knowledge of the vineyards, their experience and the passing on of their knowledge, the estate's wines testify to an acquired skill and profound sensitivity.
The Thibert family, in Pouilly-Fuissé, raised their children as grape pickers, as did Antoine Thibert in Fuissé. The harvest tippers of the Thibert terroir in Fuissé reflect this commitment. A vineyard can only give its best with time. Chardonnay and Pouilly-Fuissé are appellations that have always been cultivated and vinified by the Thibert family. The development of these lands, some of which have been handed down for eight generations, is an essential inspiration for Christophe and Sandrine. One of the particularities of the estate is that it covers all the crus of the southern Mâcon region.
The fruit comes exclusively from their vineyards, testifying to the gratitude they feel towards their roots and requiring delicate and essential choices for the long-term future of the estate. Their aim is to combine traditional and modern practices. Their vineyards are managed with integrated viticulture. Thanks to their experience and knowledge, they respect the vines and soil by adapting to the climate, while maintaining the freedom they have always had.
Christophe closely follows each stage of production: vineyard, vinification, ageing and packaging.
