A&J Demière
The history of the Maison began in 1936 with the purchase of the first vineyards in the Fleury la Rivière terroir by Fernand Demière. Working with his son Jack from the 1950s, the latter always had the ambition of expanding the vineyard around the Village and managing its entire production. Audrey and Jérôme, the third generation of the estate, took over the management at the beginning of the 2000s and wish to bring a renewal to the Maison, while retaining some of the traditional methods they hold so dear.
The “Cru Fleury la Rivière” is located in the Brunet valley, facing south/south-east, which is part of the “Vallée de la Marne, Rive Droite” wine region. This sandy-limestone environment rich in fossils and shells gives the future champagne an atypical source of iodine and salinity.
The carbon footprint is optimised thanks to the proximity of all production sites and intelligent work in the vineyard. Methods are used that promote biodiversity and soil life (soil scraping, organic soil conditioners, absence of insecticides, natural hedges, etc.). This allows perfect cluster development and a true expression of terroir.
All these attitudes have enabled the activity to be certified as High Environmental Value (HVE) without constraints.
