Antoine Bouvet
Antoine Bouvet : Family History Continues
Following in the footsteps of his illustrious grandfather, Guy Bouvet, Antoine Bouvet distinguished himself as a vigneron. From a young age, Antoine breathed the air of viticulture and winemaking under the expert guidance of his grandfather, founder of the renowned Maison Champagne Guy Bouvet.
After training at the renowned School of Viticulture in Avize, Antoine began working actively with his grandfather in 2011. In 2013, he took over the reins of the company, initiating a transition to biodynamics that led to all the vineyards being certified organic.
Despite his young age, at only seventeen, Antoine has shown extraordinary knowledge and determination in the field of wine production. His vineyards, scattered between the picturesque villages of Mareuil-sur-Ay, Avenay val d’Or and Bisseuil, cover an area of five hectares, with most of the grapes destined for the renowned Maison Bollinger and only one hectare reserved for his personal line.
The limited production, around 1000 bottles per label, testifies to Antoine’s commitment to quality and authenticity. His vineyards, characterised by limestone soils and chalk layers, are home to vines over sixty years old, mainly Pinot Noir.
With a deep respect for the terroir and following the principles of biodynamic agriculture, Antoine cultivates his vines using only organic and biological compounds. In the cellar, he favours natural vinification, without the use of oenological aids, and prefers spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, often using wooden containers for his cuvées.
Thanks to his passion and dedication, Antoine Bouvet continues to produce expressive wines that faithfully reflect their terroir, embodying the authenticity and vitality of Champagne.
