De Sousa

The De Sousa Maison in Avize resembles the old vines it has been able to preserve for over half a century. Rooted far back in the history of the Côte des Blancs, they nourish the cuvées that are a tribute to this exceptional land and to a family with recognised values: respect for the land, love for good work, quality and innovation. From the fascinating postcards of the past, Erick De Sousa, a true pioneer, has been able to draw the winning cards for the future.

“It is not enough to possess a great terroir, one must respect it and allow the vine to express its character”.

Starting with the 1995 vintage and on old vines over 50 years old, vinification takes place in small oak barrels to give the wine fat.

Located in the heart of the prestigious Côte des Blancs for three generations, on Grands Cru terroirs classified as Avize, Cramant, Oger and Mesnil/Oger. Its terroirs have an ideal south-south-east orientation, with maximum sunshine. The chalky subsoil imparts finesse, elegance and a splendid minerality to our champagnes.

Certified organic since 2010 and Demeter since 2013
