Biodiversity is a subject we know well and its balance is fundamental
They have an excavated cave of 500 m2 filled with high quality tuff, which was used to build the castles of the Loire Valley. Today they use it to store bottles and keep them at an ideal temperature. The cave was also a hiding place for resistance fighters during the Second World War.
Speaking of hiding places, the vineyard is home to thirteen different species of bats (no joke). After sunset you can catch a glimpse of a whole army of bats!
So, bats?
They use their guano in the 100% organic green manure. In fact, their food is nothing more than the small insects that proliferate in the village.
A true ecosystem!
Bees are also part of the landscape: Nicolas is a passionate beekeeper and takes care of his little protégés who feed on the red clover between the rows of vines when it flowers.
A real ecosystem that takes care of itself…
