Henriet-Bazin

Generation after generation, the Henriet-Bazin family has always been inhabited by the Spirit of Vine and Wine.

Today, our working methods stem from a simple philosophy, a way of doing things that is close to our hearts and can be summed up in one word: Respect.

Respect for nature, the land, the vines, the wines and the customers.

Artisanal wine growers and producers for 4 generations, they create champagnes that carry with them the flavour of the land from which they come. The recipe is simple: pay close attention to every detail and make the land, the vine and the wine feel good.

Grand Cru, Premier Cru, 3 vines, 4 villages, 36 plots and more…
They work their 7.75 hectares of vineyards, of which 6 hectares (34 parcels) are on the north-eastern slope of the Montagne de Reims and 1.75 hectares in the Ardre valley.
The vineyard is historically located on the Montagne de Reims and the vines are distributed between Verzenay and Verzy, classified Grand Cru, and Villers-Marmery, classified Premier Cru, where the estate is located.

However, the terroir goes far beyond the name of the plots, the grape variety they bear or the village they come from.

Over time, they have discovered that the taste of the land is also linked to a mosaic of natural geological elements such as soil, subsoil, altitude, orientation and even the slope of the plots. These links with the land greatly influence the vines and also the wines. This is why they vinify by parcel, or by geographical area.

Then comes the meteorological singularity of each year. It is then the climate that, through spring temperatures, periods of precipitation and moments of strong heat, will guide the spirit of the wines.

Finally, the energies of the soil, its interactions with the moon, its connection to the earth and the mood in which it is found will offer that little almost imperceptible extra that makes all the difference.

Because the geological components of terroirs have been implemented over millions of years.
