Piollot Père et Fils
Robert Piollot, 2 generations later, expanded the land. It is thanks to him that we have our parcel of pinot blanc, which is the foundation today of our 100% pinot blanc Champagne “Colas Robin.” In 1955, the Val Colas Robin parcel was cleared and then hand-planted with a pickaxe. It is also thanks to him that all our vines are planted with Piollot mass selection. He devoted his life to selecting the best plants and then grafting them.
Champagne Piollot Generations
In 1986, Roland, his son, left school to set up with his parents. He immediately decided to make the entire operation into champagne, and this marked the beginning of commercialization.
Robert, very attuned to nature, left his son with the image of a viticulture very focused on soil work and plant observation. In 2009, the operation switched to organic farming and was fully certified in 2014, and then recently to biodynamics.
8.50 hectares and… 19% chardonnay 62% pinot noir 12% pinot blanc 1% arbanne 6% pinot meunier. We do everything possible to preserve the antiquity of our vineyard, more than half of which is over 40 years old. Champagne PIOLLOT today perpetuates Champagne traditions and combines them with biodynamic viticulture. It’s a way for us to amplify authenticity and preserve different balances.
Champagne Piollot
Biodynamics is for us more than a working method, it’s a way of life, listening, and attention to the evolution of nature and its expression.
To the extent possible, we work taking into account the biodynamic calendar, which is based on the influence of the moon and planets. However, weather remains a primordial element in our decisions.
