Vincent Brochet
Artisan Vigneron since 1721 in Ecueil. Already in 1943, Henri Brochet, representing the ninth generation, received the official title of Récoltant-Manipulant. This was also the case in 1990 for his son Vincent, who in 2015 officially celebrated his son Gaspard joining the company, together united by the same passion and dedication to enhancing this heritage. We are talking about a total of 14 plots distributed within the three Premier Cru classified communes of Écueil, Sacy and Villers-aux-Noeuds. The vines are cultivated with full respect for the environment, choosing to implement only mechanical weeding and forgetting the use of any chemical or synthetic substances. The company in fact boasts HVE (Haute Valeur Environmental) and Viticolture Durable en Champagne certifications. If Vincent had to summarise his production philosophy, he would say that he is inspired by a ‘simple and ancestral’ winemaking model, thus treading the most conscious path to obtaining cuvées capable of telling the personality of the individual terroir. Spontaneous fermentations are favoured with the help of the yeasts naturally present on the skins, all of this within small 228-litre fut de chene made precisely from wood from the Montagne de Reims. Malolactic fermentations are not favoured by artificial methods so as to preserve freshness and vivacity.
